Project #8 Consentful Interface / Microscope imitation
Move the mouse around and make some movement in front of the camera. Type the color you want for moleculas and background in the box.
Description
My initial idea on the experimental camera was the microscope camera allows the viewer to imitate the movement of the molecules. One of my idea of the camera was the microscope imitation, where we can see objects structures at the micro-level and adjusts them looking closely or the opposite. The microscope camera can capture any object, human, or environment and imitate its simple molecular structure. After Week 11 I started thinking about consentful interface and try to follow the F.R.I.E.S model. The microscope camera allows the viewer to imitate the movement of the molecules. One of my idea of the camera was the microscope imitation, where we can see objects structures at the micro-level and adjusts them looking closely or the opposite. Design Process
I sketched some interface screens first and tried to retranslate these ideas to my Experimental Camera 2.0. I tried to use “scenes” for the transition between explanatory pages and my experimental camera. I did not change the camera itself but tried to add more conscious steps in the transition.
Reflection
I think the F.R.I.E.S model helps me to understand our sensory perception of privacy and data while we are on the web. It is very important to consider the user's permission and agreement on usage of their personal data, such as location, camera, private or public data and notify them about any changes. I tried to simplify the steps of transition to make them short yet explanatory that users can use and control this tool as they want.
