Project #5 Experimental Camera / Molecular camera

Move the mouse around and make some movement in front of the camera.

Description

The microscope camera allows the viewer to imitate the movement of the molecules. One of my idea of the camera was the microscope imitation, where we can see objects structures at the micro-level and adjusts them looking closely or the opposite.  The microscope camera can capture any object, human, or environment and imitate its simple molecular structure.

Design Process

I had three main ideas for an experimental camera:  1. Glitch effect — where I wanted to address some suspense and horror by watching on white noise and distortion effects. The idea was the other side of the screen we do not see or see differently.  2. Typography camera — create typography on-screen, transform any object into font and symbol.  3. Microscope camera — create molecules and illustrate their movement. I choose to develop this idea.

Reflection

I was studying tutorials and recommendations from our tutors. I mixed the slit-scan effect and pixel array effect. I tried to make “molecules” colorful at first and different shapes, but it turns to be too much psychedelic and glitchy effect, so I choose to have a black and white version of it.
